empower program
The EMPOWER youth program is open to female identifying & gender oppressed youth.
The EMPOWER Youth Program is a participant guided program designed to encourage confidence, acceptance and self expression. Participants work together creating weekly sessions based on their interests and needs as the year progresses. By keeping our groups small, we are able to foster a comfortable environment that empowers and supports one another while ensuring individual needs are met. (Each group has up to 10 participants).
The 2023/ 2024 season marks our 3rd year offering two age groups in an afterschool program each week. Our goal is to help participants develop leadership and social skills while fostering self esteem and positive self growth. The EMPOWER program provides a safe space designed to support peers, build confidence, and promote healthy self image and mental health.
Each week participants share in developing the program based on their needs and interests. The program aims to foster resiliency, leadership skills, build connections, increase positive communication and coping skills, to learn about community engagement and social justice.
These programs are developed and facilitated by our Women's Support Worker, Sarah Pearson
